Great Grow Medium
Works well for what I was using it for. Hydrates to maybe quadruple its size. I hydrated mine with a low dose of the grow nutrients from Fox Farms. This helped jumpstart my clones once they were put in soil. I mixed in about 20% perlite with this to help retain moisture. Make sure you have some calMag handy since this medium tends to hold on to salt. More temperamental than premixed potting soils.

Great soil additive for water retention
Good but not the greatest quality…but using it in a public garden as a soil additive..will hold water, especially on days none of our team have the time to make the trip to water…I purchased another brand for seed starting with my soil blocker… it keeps it firm a little better.

Coconut Coir Peat Brick
Loved this planting peat mix. Great for germination of seeds plus propagation of other plants. For years I tried propagating a piece of my carpet rose bush, to no avail. Saw this product used on a YouTube video showing how to propagate a rose bush from a cutting. Sure enough, I tried this Coconut Coir Peat and today I see that my cutting has leaves on it. Just add warm water to this brick, wait 30 minutes and you have soil. One brick makes a good quantity of soil as well. Will definitely buy more!

Cost Effective Gardening At Its Finest!
I'm an avid gardener, I've tried various soil amendments, and this product has quickly become one of my favorites.Pros:Filling raised beds is expensive, with these coco coir peat bricks you get a great value for a great price. It is a great cost effective solution, I mixed it in with moisture control gardening soil and worm castings. My garden is beyond thriving! I used the coco coir as a component in my potting mix from seed starting to transplanting and it worked wonders for my plants. Its compressed form makes storage and handling a breeze. Its easy to use, just need to soak in water for expansion. When soaking the brick, I normally place it in a bucket and fill it until the brick is fully submerged and give it some time.It provides excellent moisture retention, great for long hot summer days.Cons:The water retention can become a problem for overwatering or root rot. For those who already overwater the bricks when expanding them, its a good way to learn how much water is too much water. I noticed after purchasing, these coco coir bricks have no perlite. There are other brands available that have added perlite. Perlite works great for moisture control as well as preventing soil compression. I definitely will try those next and see if I like them better. When removing the plastic packaging, it releases dust. It is a great idea to unwrap the coco coir brick inside a bucket to reduce dust fallout.I do believe the uneven sizing stated on the other reviews, could be a quality control issue. I ordered two 8pks and all my bricks were of equal size.

Less time for it to become “dirt”
Breaks down fastest yet. Love the ease of it. I used it this time to stop the run off when it rains. Dries and then swells up with the rain. Saved my new garden from washing away

Not for sub
Fair quality coir. It does not expand with the same consistency and volume as the more expensive brands. It has a chemical smell and I often find knots/clumps of coir that are near impossible to break up. This product is sufficient for flower beds but a poor option for substrate.
