the kit is worth it to get everything you need to take measurements
I'm glad I bought the kit. You need the tube to be able to make any measurements. This is the first time I've used one of these and it really is a big step up in my beer brewing hobby. Worth the investment.

This is seems working well. Keep in mind that it is calibrated for 60 degrees F. Also the numbers are somewhat small. Unless you are very young and have good eye. I would recommend a magnifying glass to see it better.
