My Pick for Secretary of Dept of Floor Management
“Sallie Jo” started her position about a month ago. The interview process was several months of reviewing resumes of hundreds of robovacs. Day one, it took about 10 minutes to get her office set up and sign in to the communications center. I let her take a break and recharge for about three hours. I used that time to get acquainted with the app. It was relatively easy to understand and set up.The app will let you determine sequence of cleaning, such as vac only, vac/mop at once, or vac then mop, let you decide which rooms will get what when, and virtually tell Sallie Jo which areas to just stay away from-like the hearth- I don’t want her to roll up onto the brick because of the small stones, etc.Once she was fully charged, I asked her to make a map of the house. Within about 15 minutes she mapped out our entire downstairs (approx 1800 SqFt). It was amazing to see such detail! Unbelievable! It took me about 3 mins to name the rooms on the map. Before her first clean, I made sure all the dog toys, cords, small items and rugs were picked up because I wanted to do a full deep clean. I set her up to vacuum everywhere well with two passes and then to mop everywhere. You can select how strong the suction needs to be from room to room, how detailed you’d like her to be, etc. I asked her to be as detailed as possible. The process took her several hours to complete. She did an incredible job! The floors were clean, the area rugs were clean. The “dirty water” collection container water was dirty! 🤮. It used about 1/3 of the clean water. I used only water. She cleaned and dried the mop pads as requested. I knew ai had hired the right one for the job!Her weekly routine is to do a weekly deep clean (sweep and mop everywhere ), a daily high traffic sweep and a weekly mop in high traffic areas. She is always right on time and the daily week takes maybe 20 mins. That deep clean takes several hours because she goes back and forth to dump dust and then discard and refill water while mopping. Our house is 100 yrs old and the floors get pretty dusty. Top that off with two shedding dogs and it was a daily sweep down for me. We have a combination of hard wood, area rugs and tile. She recognizes the different surfaces and adjusts accordingly. One of the things I cringe about the most is being able to see the dust and such that is under furniture that I couldn’t get to with the broom-but was too lazy to get unless company was coming. I did notice she was not as efficient when she sweeps and mops at once, so I asked her to sweep and then come back to mop. This helped so much with the up and down of the mop pads, and the back and forth to and from her desk. The final result was the same. Just a preference thing. I have not added any cleaning product to the clean water basin, and really haven’t felt the need. I may at some point just because 🤷🏻♀️.Now, after about a month in, and Sallie Jo has gotten into such a good routine, I have a good feel of her work ethic. She follows instructions perfectly! She is never late and completes tasks. Occasionally she has gotten a little confused about where to go and decided the walk in shower needed love as well-but then stayed in there. It seems that she was just not able to get up enough speed from inside the shower to get herself over the little hump to come out. Maybe she was just thinking she’d like a shower and fell asleep waiting..the world will never know. But after telling her not to go back into the shower, she hasn’t again. Such restraint she has!!Despite the good bit of dust and dog hair that usually graces us on a daily basis, our floors are clean! So far, I haven’t needed to change the dust bag (but I do have to peep sometimes when I want to see just what all she got up). The small collection area with the filter has also stayed pretty darn free of stuff. One rock which is how I learned to keep her away from the brick fireplace hearth. Even with dog hair, my hair, and general whatever it is that just ends up on our floors, I’ve not had to clean the roller one time! The areas under the furniture that you see from several feet away when the light hits it just right? You know, that looks like it would spin into a dirt devil if the wind hit is just right? Sallie Jo took care of it. My sofa was an issue because it is 5” off the floor. Sallie couldn’t get under there because of the Navi that sits on top. I bought new feet and raised it up one inch (small price to pay for a clean floor) and now, she easily cleans under there as well! I do empty the dirty water after mopping just for the smell factor and spray some something in there to help keep it clean. I refill the clean water doo dad every week before deep mop day just to be sure she has what she needs. All in all, I can say Sallie Jo is well worth her wage. She asked for a bit more than I intended to pay, however it has worked out to be so worth it! I don’t do a lot of floor anything now! I just call Sallie Jo and get her on it. I can’t recommend her enough! You can’t have my Sallie Jo, but I encourage you to get your own!

It Does Its Job!!
We have a long hair dog and clean the house is usually a half day task for us to do during the weekend. We have been looking for a robot vacuum cleaner for a long time. I saw Ecovas released this new T30S and I thought I would give it a try.And IT DOES ITS JOB! You can schedule or manually start a clean cycle, with either mop only, vacuum only or both. There are more options for you to customize the clean cycle to fit your needs. We have an approx. 1,200 sqft house and it takes about one and half hours to mop and vacuum in standard mode. One standard clean cycle consumes about 60% of the battery. The robot is able to recognize carpet vs. hardwood floor, and it will lift up the mop automatically when it runs through the carpet. It moves gently and won’t damage or scratch any furniture. It’s relatively quiet and I can barely notice it if it’s in a different room. The best part I like is that it will go back to the station to wash mop and empty trash bin when needed, and then go back to continue the work. The only thing I wish it could do a better job is that I found the robot being stuck in one of my soft rugs a couple times. I drew a virtual boundary around the rug so that it never enters the dangerous zone ever again. It also tried to climb up to the round base of my bar chair, which was resolved by another virtual boundary. If I could write down a wish list for the next generation improvement, I hope the detangle technology can be enhanced. I’ll need to clean the main brush after a few runs due to long dog hair clogging in there, but it takes about 5 mins and not a huge issue to me. Also please figure out a way so that it can empty the dirty water container by itself :-)

EDIT: DO NOT BUY///Great, definitely can be better
EDIT: Okay, well it doesn't work anymore, stopped dispensing water, stopped mopping correctly, stopped drying correctly (makes the floors smell like mildew when it does manage to mop), its navigation has completely deteriorated (just slams its empty skull against the wall over and over and over until it speed slams itself into the wall and then bumbles off to another part of the house to terrorize). Honestly, I want to frisbee-sling this thing into a tree as hard as I can. I want to smash it into the ground over and over, it's that annoying. And they're charging $1,000 for it.... yeah. Scam.ORIGINAL: I really like this guy (T30S) compared to my old Shark robot vacuum, I have a golden retriever so I know there's never going to be a robot vacuum that can pick up every piece of hair but I was hoping this one would be a bit better about not getting tangled. Not the case. While it still runs fine with hair wrapped around, it's still annoying that after all of the innovations in tangleless brushes they'd have included this in a $1,000 machine. Or at least maybe offer an upgraded brush like the Dreame brand offers for their models. This machine is also very much not quiet if you're expecting that, it's not loud, just a very mechanical noise from it as it runs around the house, the vacuum portion is about as loud as the mechanical noises of the machine so it's negligible but wild that the loudest noises from it are the machine itself. Compared to the Dreame comparable model that is much much, more quiet, where the loudest noise is from the vacuuming itself, and even then it could be mistaken for soft white noise on standard mode. This machine is able to detect things well in clear light, do not expect it to detect small items like animal items unless it's EXTREMELY well lit and/or on light flooring, otherwise don't even hope this will avoid something. The mapping is very well done, it can run around quickly and map well and distributes up the rooms well. The most frustrating thing about this product is the very aggressive side sweeper. It will absolutely mess any and all light carpeting and any corners it's hitting, it will flip carpets up, run them upside down, move them, fray them, and god forbid a thread get wrapped around any part of it because youuuu bet this thing will pull and pull and pull that thread out till your carpet is unraveling. Lastly, this will ABSOLUTELY mop your carpets. If you have any white carpets you better make them and no go zone with a nice buffer, because this sucker will line up so perfectly with it to where the robot is just a little under halfway on the carpet but the majority of it will be on the hardwood that it thinks it needs to mop. so yes, one mop pad will mop your carpet, one mop pad will mop your floor, staining the carpet the entire time <3 Really aggravating. Oh, and the mop pads will often get stuck under the edges of carpets or other things since theyre just magnetically held on there. I do enjoy the hot air drying, the hot water cleaning, and the tap start functioning. It does a great job vacuuming and mopping, floor have never been so consistently clean (albeit my white carpet), and I love having my gym mopped daily, keeping the rubber, sweat and foot smell away. I think they have a detergent they want you to use but I just use pine sol cause I like the smell, which is nice, but I do also really like the automatic detergent addition offered by the Dreame, and their scent is also very nice.
